Muskegon Fishing

Fishing other than walleye has been good. The northeren Pike fishing on Muskegon lake is great. Between live bait on the bottom to trolling the top 15 feet during the day. You can have plenty of action throughout the day time. I have to say I haven't seen many large pike produced . The average fish is 25 to 30 inches. It going to be interesting to see if the ice sets up with the colder temps . The larger walleye will start to school. Keeping the boat out for as long as possible is the plan. Here is a 13 pound 34 inch fish we took this spring. Just think if it wasn't a post spawn fish. Their out there.

Day And Night Time Walleye

Muskegon lake walleye durring the day are still going well. Yesterday the fish were negative but we managed to get them going. We did have to settle for smaller fish than what we had been catching . We even caught four that were undersized. There were 18 legal fish caught in 2 hours. That was between 3 boats in our group. There was one that weighed in at 9 pounds. That's a great fish no matter how you look at it. Muskegon lake after dark went well. We ended up with one 3 poundsr a 7 ,10 and lost one about 12 lbs before 8:30. The weather was just bad enough to keep the crowds away. The bite was just getting started when we left.

Muskegon Night Walleye 1/7/07

Night walleye fishing was tough last night. Not only was the fishing slow. There were a ton of boats on the water. The warmer weather and the talk around town of the 15.5 walleye must be driving people crazey. I can't remember the last time I've seen so many trailers in the parking lot.

Muskegon Day Time Walleye

Afternoon fishing has been great. Better than most people realize it can be. Tonight we ended up with 4 about 3 pounders and had two other hits. There was allot of traffic on the lake .Overall there were lots of other boats out. I think the only poeple that caught fish were a few of us that have been fishing hard for the last several weeks. We are all running the same program. Overall today sounded tough. The night bite has been great. Talked to a guy the other night that got a great Muskgon Lake Walleye. 15.56 34 inches. The pictures were impressive.
